Will Jennifer Lawrence bag another trophy next year? According to the Awards Circuit's 2016 early Oscar nominations for best actress, she just might.
Surprisingly, she isn't in the top five list, despite being considered for her performance in "Joy."
According to the said list, Alicia Vikander for "The Danish Girl," Carey Mulligan for "Suffragette," Cate Blanchette for "Carol," Lily Tomlin for "Grandma" and 21-year-old Saoirse Ronan for "Brooklyn" could land a nomination for the Academy Awards.
Lawrence, Brie Larson ("Room"), Blythe Danner ("I'll See You In My Dreams"), and Charlotte Rampling ("45 Years") are also strong contenders for the category.
However, there are other talented actresses who could snag a nomination for best actress as well.
Angelina Jolie Pitt, Marion Cotillard, Emily Blunt, Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron, and even Elle Fanning was mentioned, among others.
