Michael Fassbender's girlfriend Alicia Vikander was reportedly supposed to star with him in the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" movie.
However, something apparently came up that Vikander could no longer get herself involved in the movie adaptation of the hit video game.
Accordingly, the 26-year-old Swedish actress has opted to join the cast of Matt Damon's "Bourne" seqeul instead.
"Alicia Vikander has now been set to star in the next instalment of the Jason Bourne saga opposite Matt Damon, Deadline can confirmed.
"She will not, however, be starring in Justin Kurzel's 'Assassins Creed' pic opposite Michael Fassbender."
Almost instantly, news of Michael Fassbender and girlfriend breaking up grew rampant.
According to Kpopstarz Vikander's decision to appear in "Bourne" movie instead of "Assassin's Creed" caused much damage to their relationship.

And while the 38-year-old German Irish actor is reportedly disappointed with the situation, Vikander on the other hand is said to be "lonely" because her boyfriend is too busy with his acting career.
With his three upcoming movies including, "Macbeth", "Steve Jobs" and "Assassins' Creed," Fassbender reportedly has no time for his girlfriend.
In an interview with Belfast Telegraph, Alicia Vikander admitted that she is having a hard time adjusting to living in the U.S. and she just try to keep herself busy to become "less lonely."
"I've been trying to do good work in a language that isn't my own. I guess that does make me determined, but it's in my nature to want to do the best that I can. It also makes me feel safe, in a funny way, if I'm working hard; less lonely, somehow."
Adding, "I suffer from a constant anxiety that what's happening to me isn't going to last forever," she sighed.
With rumors circulating that Michael Fassbender and girlfriend Alicia Vikander breaking up become widespread, Gossip Cop was quick to report that such rumors are definitely "inaccurate."
