People who likes posting things, sometimes TMI (or too much information), better change the way they use Facebook in the future.
Or at least start practicing now. Company CEO says Facebook dislike button might be included on his social site soon.
"I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we're working on it and shipping it," Zuckerberg said during a Q&A session on Tuesday.
Facebook dislike button was brought up before but the young CEO voted against it since it would convey negativity. Now, Mark Zuckerberg and his company are working on it since social media site is meant to become an avenue to express one's feelings.
"That isn't what we're here to build in the world. What they really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment," he added.
Zuckerberg did not further elaborate how Facebook dislike button will affect posts. There is a perceived belief that this Facebook dislike button feature will only cause negative effect to the ones who made the post. Some thin friendships will be strained because of the disapproval on posts.
Speaking of negativity, Facebook has already started work on that before announcing Facebook dislike button. At the end of last month, the company promised they will take measures to curb online hate.
This came after Germany Justice Minister Heiko Maas called on Facebook to improve "effectiveness and transparency of your community standards" as more people posted negative things about refugees coming to Europe.
In response, Facebook confirmed they will work with the Germany ministry "to develop appropriate solutions to counter xenophobia and racism and to represent this online".
