Gorillaz hasn't really been making news following their 2010 record, "The Fall."
Additionally, Damon Albarn has also been really busy with his band, Blur, leaving no chance for Gorillaz to release a new album.
However, that's about to change as Albarn promises fans that a new album is definitely coming up.
But before that, Albarn, in an interview with The Guardian, revealed that he actually got to work with Adele for her new album.
He even described Adele's new album as "very middle of the road".
"I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse," Albarn said. "It's very middle of the road."
Apparently, before Albard could get to work on a new Gorillaz album, he did at least work with Adele for five track, which he believed would not even make it to he final cut.
"Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her," he explained. "And I'm not a producer, so ... I don't know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don't think so. Let's wait and see. The thing is, she's very insecure. And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young."
Meanwhile, in line with Jamie Hewlett launching the 2015 2D versions of Murdoc, Noodle and Russel on Instagram, Albarn announce to ABC News that the trio is coming up with a new album.
"I'm starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record," Albarn admitted. "I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance."
Adding, "I'd love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week."
Damon Albarn however, has failed to reveal when Gorillaz is planning to release their new album, but rumor has it that it will probably hit the shelves sometime next year.
