Benedict Cumberbatch's lack of appearance in the last D23 expo did not come short because he prepared a special video footage revealing more details about Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie.
"I'm very excited to be taking on 'Doctor Strange' for Marvel," he said in his video footage addressed to fans, Screen Rant reported.
While he tried to reveal as littled information as possible, the 39-year-old English actor hinted how Doctor Strange will affect the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe following his statement.
"He's an extraordinary character and brings in a whole other dimension... hmmm... MULTIPLE dimensions to the Marvel universe."
And as a preparation for the role of Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch is apparently beefing up following the footsteps of Marvel's Big C's, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Chris Pratt.
Benedict Cumberbatch is reportedly "wolfing double the daily amount of calories and spending hours with a personal trainer," according to The Sun.
Adding, "Dr Strange was always muscly in the cartoons so Benedict has to look the part when they start filming in the autumn.
"Skinny Sherlock Holmes will be the last thing anyone thinks about."
Now that Marvel is actively gearing up for the dark superhero film, Variety exclusively reported that more and more cast are being lined up for the film including, "Hannibal" star Mads Mikkelsen to play the villain.
"'Hannibal' star Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks to play one of the villains in Marvel's 'Doctor Strange' oppositeBenedict Cumberbatch, Variety has learned exclusively. While sources say no offer has been delivered, one is expected shortly. Marvel had no comment on Mikkelsen's involvement."
If the deal closes, Mikkelsen will reportedly join other cast members namely, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Ejiofor as Baron Modo while Swinton to play Doctor Strange's mentor.
"The actress is negotiations to portray the Ancient One, the Tibetan mystic who is a mentor to Dr. Strange," the publication revealed.
Apparently, shooting will start anytime in November as the crew hunts for possible New York location, Comic Book reported.
"I've been talking about it for a long, long, long, long time, as we talked about Guardians (of the Galaxy) for a long, long time before it happened, and we talked about The Avengers for a long, long time before it happened," Kevin Feige toldMTV.
"(Director) Scott Derrickson and the producing team are on a scout right now, finishing a scout in New York City for certain buildings that Doctor Strange inhabits. They're on their way to London, where we'll be doing principal photography, starting in November. It's great. Benedict (Cumberbatch) has been on a bit of a whirlwind tour up until now, but we're so excited. We are as excited to have him as he is to be a part of this universe. It's always a nice combination."
"Doctor Strange" is scheduled to hit the cinemas on Nov. 4, 2016.
