It's not just English actors who are getting noticed in Hollywood nowadays. There have also been plenty of British actresses in famous American movie roles today!
Some of the actresses who successfully hid accents for their respective films include Rosamund Pike, Emma Watson, Emilia Clarke, Kate Winslet and Carey Mulligan.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Rosamond Pike picked up a "haunting" American accent for her role in "Gone Girl." She picked up a nomination for Best Actress in last year's Oscar Awards.
Emma Watson, on the other hand, steered away from her Hermione persona by joining the cast of "Perks Of Being A Wallflower" opposite Logan Lerman. She then took her American accent a level higher as a wannabe socialite in "The Bling Ring."
She may be most known as Khaleesi but Emilia Clarke veered away from her British tongue to become Sarah Connor in "Terminator: Genisys."
Kate Winslet, meanwhile, fascinated both audience and critic alike with her performance in "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" where she showed off her American accent opposite Jim Carrey.
Carey Mulligan was also able to show off both her acting skills and American accent in the Leonardo DiCaprio-led film, "The Great Gatsby."
