Lisa Lampanelli: Comedian Brings One-Woman Body Image Show to Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli is bringing her new one-woman show to York City's Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York, Pa. according to cnn.com.

Lampanelli comes to the venue to perform in her new play-like production with a slate of weekend shows Thursday, Oct. 3, Friday, Oct. 4, and Saturday Oct. 5. The Sunday Oct. 6 show will be at 3 p.m. CNN reported.

The show is a new venture for the comedian who lost 80 pounds last year, and aims to portray her life struggles with food, men, and body image in a more serious but amusing manner CNN reported.

"I was such an overeater," Lampanelli told In Touch Weekly who used to weigh 248 pounds. "Now, I get full quickly - at three, four bites, I have to stop. The size I am right now is the size I was always meant to be.

"I feel so much healthier," she said.

According to People, Lampanelli told talk show host Dr. Oz while on his show in October, she likes to live a normal life after having gastric sleeve surgery to make her stomach smaller so she feel becomes full more quickly last April In Touch reported.

"I order food like a normal human being. If I'm out to lunch I'm going to order three courses like everybody else. I'm not going to feel like some kind of freak. So I always order soup, dessert and a sandwich or whatever, a main course," she said. "But then the idea is you have to eat such a small portion of it and bring the rest home. So I'll pretty much eat two bites of soup and get the taste. You get the flavor. You still get to enjoy good food and not deprive yourself because that's a failure of a lot of diets."
