While Emilia Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger's tandem did not seem to impress U.S. viewers, "Terminator: Genisys" however, did great in China.
The "Game of Thrones" star was reportedly vindicated following the film's big opening in china, Variety reported.
Additionally, Paramount and Skydance's film has now earned $335.1 million internationally following its $27.4 million opening in China.
While "Terminator Genisys" earned big internationally, it's lackluster standing in the U.S. was allegedly blamed to "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke's performance.
According to Dish Nation, Clarke's bad performance in "Terminator Genisys" was put under bad light. It even went as far as claiming that because of this she has now been dropped from the planned sequel.
"Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop," an insider revealed to the source above. "Of course it's not all her fault, but they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did."
"It's a shame because the role could have really cemented her place in Hollywood," the insider added. "But instead it's put a downer on it."
While Emilia Clarke's future with "Terminator Genisys" still remains unknown, Jai Courtney, who played the role of Kyle Reese seemed to have secured his role for the sequel.
In a previous interview with Screenrant, Courtney gamely taked about the film convinced that there should be a "Terminator Genisys" sequel.
"I would normally kind of dance around that, but when you can be sort of unforgivingly nasty, it's fun," Courtney said when asked what his character would become in the sequel.
"It's tougher to play a good guy," Courtney added.
However, he could not provide a specific answer as to the future of "Terminator" franchise.
"I don't know," the actor said. "Look. That stuff's a long way away. I know there are people who know exactly where they want this to go from a narrative point of view."
Emilia Clarke on the other hand, has remained really quiet about the sequel.
