"Bachelor" contestant Gia Allemand passed away Wednesday, according to eonline.com.
Melinda Farina, a close friend of Allemand tweeted the news shortly after Allemand's family first informed everyone about the tragedy E! Online reported.
In her message Farina said: "@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone."
"I'm so sad about my best friend right now...how could this have happened to such an incredible person..she needs to come out of it!"
"Everyone I will keep you posted if I hear anything further right now it's not good-we all need to stay positive though she's tiny but strong."
Allemand received even more support from co-actors and friends alike in former star of the show, Sean Lowe, who also expressed his thoughts to Allemand writing:
"My prayers go out to @GiaAllemand's family during this time. Life on earth is but a vapor and she's with our Lord now."
Allenmand who was on the reality show's 14th season which according to People.com featured Jake Pavelka as the man who would chose which woman to marry, was transported to University Hospital in New Orleans, La. Monday night E! Online reported.
A representative for Allenmand told E! Online she was listed in critical condition after suffering a medical emergency E! Online reported. Details are not known.
The reality star was placed on life support with her mother and boyfriend, NBA basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans Ryan Anderson with her.
The Allenmand family issued the following statement Tuesday requesting privacy People.com reported.
"On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time," the statement said.
