Actor Charles Day's show entitled "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Gang Tries Desperately to Win an Award" will make fun of the show's Emmy snub, according to Philly.com.
"They go to these other bars to try to figure out what they're doing that they're not doing, and then try to change themselves to fit in that formula. It doesn't go so well," Day said according to the Christian Monitor.
While speaking on the Television Critics Association press tour panel in Beverly Hills. last week, Day said the episode will be about the actors trying to win their hangout, Paddy's Pub, an award after realizing it does not have any, the Christian Monitor reported.
Sunny, played by actor Glenn Howerton, also announced a thanksgiving episode is in the works where the cast has dinner with people who they don't like the Christian Monitor reported.
"(Actor) Gary Oldman hasn't won an Academy Award," Howerton said on the panel. "We're the Gary Oldman of shows."
Co-star Danny DeVito, who also served on the panel said the episode will have business-like characteristics associated with it.
"There's traffic and then you have to put the suit on..." DeVito said according to Philly.com.
"You have to do makeup and stuff," Kaitlin Olson added.
According to the Christian Monitor, there will also be an episode this season where "Lethal Weapon 6" is created, which is similar to when "Lethal Weapon 5" was done.
The season premiere is Sept. 4 on FX's sister station FXX.
