Dave Matthews Band has yet to release a new album for years now, but it seemed that it's about to change.
Apparently, the American rock band who remained in the shadows doing small tours for a while is now ready to come up with a new album.
While the release date has yet to be announced, the Dave Matthews Band is reportedly going to launch their new album together with their upcoming tours.
Dave Matthews confirmed in an interview with Relix.
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," the band's frontman said, as reported by Relix. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
And while fans misses their music, Dave Matthews further revealed that the band is now working on something new to offer to their fans.
"I think we are unique and a pretty badass band - maybe a little creakier than we once were," he explained. "We are cursed and blessed with the fact that if you want to see what the band is like and get to know us, then you have to see us live or at least listen."
However, Matthews assured fans that while there will be an all new sound to their upcoming album, old songs from their unreleased tracks will also be included.
"There are some songs the band has been playing for a long time," he hinted. "And then whenever I start messing around in the studio, I start writing, so hopefully we can come up with something worth listening to."
And in a separate interview with Rolling Stone, Dave Matthews explained that he and his band mates wanted to offer something in their new album that will not sound "like the past."
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," Matthews said. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
