HTC One A9 The World’s Most Powerful Upcoming Flagship? Reportedly Packing A Deca-core Processor

The latest HTC One A9 leak suggests that it could be the most powerful flagship device when it comes out.

Recently, the HTC One A9 reportedly visited Geekbench. Dubbed as HTC Aero, it was listed on the benchmarking site packing a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor paired with a hefty 4GB of RAM, just like the Acer Predator 6 gaming phone, Digital Trends reported.

"The HTC One A9 will apparently utilize either a Mali-T880 MP4 or MP6 GPU for graphics. In addition, the device will come backed by 4 GB of RAM. With this SoC, MediaTek has upped the ante in the battle for powerful processors," IB times wrote.

According to GSM Arena, with the MediaTek Helio X20's deca-cores is the most powerful chipset available in the market today. Also, "the chip maker has apparently employed the 20 nm process to manufacture the chipset." Thus, making the HTC Aero A9 energy efficient by 30%, IB Times added.

"The two are going to be Cortex-A72 cores, which should perform a lot better than the Cortex-A57s in other high-end chipsets. The other eight cores will be Cortex-A53, divided into two different clusters for maximum performance with minimum power drain," GSM Arena wrote.

In addition, the MediaTek Helio X20 scored 5884 which makes it the alpha among processor compared to Samsung Galaxy Note 5's score of 5084, and the OnePlus 2s score of 4741, Tech Radar reported.

While the MediaTek chipset 1,835 score in the single-core test, outperforms NVIDIA Tegra K1 chip with a score of 1,903 which was last seen in the HTC Nexus 9, IB Times added.

Phone Arena added that HTC's choice of the MediaTek Helio X20 could be the wisest decision it made as there are a total 30 devices scheduled to be released in the future with Snapdragon 820 in tow.
