To fans surprise, director Cary Fukunaga who seemed to be really pumped up with Stephen King's "It' movie remake had decided to leave the project.
Apparenlty, Fukunaga decided to exit from the project due to creative and budget differences, Screen Rant reported.
And while the future of the movie seemed to left in doom, new reports claim that a new director has been found to helm "It" movie remake.
Apparently, "Mama" director Andy Muschietti is now being eyed to replace Fukunaga in the directorial chair.
While no further details have yet to be announced, Muschietti and New Line Cinema are reportedly in final negotiations for the film to finally push through.
THR confirmed that producers David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, Dan Lin and Roy Lee are working doubly hard for Stephen King's "It" movie remake to be back on track.
Meanwhile, Screen Rant pointed out that that Muschietti will perfectly fit the film citing that King's "It" and Muschietti's"Mama" share "thematic ties in that they both deal with traumatized children and malevolent, mysterious supernatural creatures."
Muschietti remarkedly made his way to Hollywood when his directorial debut with "Mama,"earned $146 million against a reported $15 million budget. It starred Nikolaj Coster-Waldau of "Game of Thrones" and Jessica Chastain of "A Most Violent Year."
A summary of Stephen King's "It" novel from Wikipedia reads below.
