The Burger 21 franchise is expanding its company to Arizona according to restaurantnews.com.
"This is a significant achievement in our company's history as Burger 21 expands westward for the first time," Burger 21 president and chief concept officer of Front Burner Brands, management company for Burger 21 Mark Johnston told Restaurant News. "Our first Arizona franchisee, Dan Lenhauser, has a wealth of franchising experience that will ensure the brand's success in the state. We look forward to introducing Chandler residents to our innovative 21 crafted burgers and hand-dipped shakes."
The company signed a franchise agreement, which put its first and newest location in the western United States next year as it looks to grow in the region. Nine open locations and 17 restaurants are currently in development across the country, restaurant news reported.
Lenhauser, a multi-unit Subway franchisee with over 15 years of experience in the Phoenix, has hopes to add a second restaurant in the region after opening his first location.
"It's exciting to be the first franchisee to bring Burger 21 out West, and I know that Chandler residents will appreciate the brand's diverse menu and 'beyond the better burger' experience that is truly unlike any other in town," Lenhauser to Restaurant News. "The extensive training and support that I'll receive from Front Burner Brands, coupled with my foodservice and franchising experience, will allow me to further establish Burger 21′s presence in Arizona."
In fall 2011, Burger 21 announced its goals for how it intends to grow, and has since accepted agreements with 12 different businesses in nine states to 22 units in municipalities throughout the United States Restaurant News reported.
The company is looking for franchisee candidates and will be having a "webinar" Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. eastern time.
