'Hannibal' Reunion Alert! Bryan Fuller's New Series Enlists Ex Colleague W/ Season 4 Still Not Sure

| By

There is no assurance yet for "Hannibal" season 4 but there is one show where people from the NBC series will get to work with each other again.

Series creator Bryan Fuller is now overseeing Starz new fantasy show "American Gods" and with him there is his former director David Slade.

"Part of the Hannibal gang is getting back together - at least behind the camera," Deadline wrote in its exclusive report.

"David Slade will be joining Bryan Fuller on American Gods, I've learned. 'The Hannibal' EP and 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' director is set to helm the pilot and several more episodes of FremantleMedia North America's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Hugo and Nebula Award-winning contemporary fantasy novel. Slade will also serve as an EP on the series, which has Fuller and Michael Green as showrunners."

This report comes as more news are confirming that "Hannibal" season 4 is not going to happen. Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the title role, has signed for Star Wars franchise and is rumored to be in Marvel movie "Doctor Strange." Hugh Dancy, who plays Hannibal Lecter's nemesis Will Graham, also signed up for a new Hulu series called "The Way."

Shortly after the third season's finale, Bryan Fuller said they are still mulling new opportunities if "Hannibal" season 4 does not push through.

"There's a few ways to go. The movie route is very appealing because we have movie actors," he told the Hollywood Reporter.

"It would be great to see them on the big screen and we've always shot the show as though it were an independent movie with an independent film esthetic. Coming full circle in return to the big screen is very promising. But it would be interesting to discuss a miniseries or some sort of continuation of the story with another network once all the hubbub of this series has gone fallow. Who knows? Maybe there is an opportunity for us to address things with MGM and Clarice Starling now that the show has completed its run on NBC and there is an opportunity for a rebirth of sorts."

"American Gods" TV series, which is based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name, is expected to debut on 2016.
