It has been revealed in previous spoilers that Damian Darhk is already in Starling City when "Arrow" season 4 premiere airs.
Darhk is this season's big bad who will terrorize Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), his friends and his beloved city. Now the question is, how long has he been there?
Time is of the essence here because the longer he has been there means the closer he is to his goal.
Once Oliver returns from a trip with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) to what extent does Neal McDonoughs character have plotted his mission in Star City?
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim said the mobster, which they call Prince of Darkness, has been around for a while and this will be explained in "Arrow" season 4 premiere episode.
"We're gonna learn that this villain has been operating in town for the past three months," Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly.
"Team Arrow has basically been trying to keep [him] at bay, but then something happens in the season premiere that's the straw that breaks the camel's back and it prompts Laurel [Katie Cassidy] and Thea [Willa Holland] to go find Oliver and get him to return."
Three is a lot of time for someone who has an abundance resources. Oliver and his team has a lot of cleaning up to do. The worse part is Darhk is not like other villains Team Arrow encountered before.
Talking to Collider, co-executive producer Wendy Mericle said Darhk is not like Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) or Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) who only resort to killing for the greater good. Darhk's goal is solely for himself.
"He is definitely a super bad-ass, scary guy. We really were excited that we got Neal [McDonough]," Mericle told Collider last month.
"We've had Malcolm and we've had Slade. If you start to break it down, they're the villains, but they're the heroes of their own story and you understand why they're doing what they're doing. Damien doesn't have that. Damien is just pure evil. We wanted to explore that. We've never really done a sociopath on the show, and that's what we're exploring this year. That's why we're introducing him so fast and early in the season."
"Arrow" season 4 premiere is on Oct. 7.
