Demi Lovato recently posted a hilarious Instagram selfie with her former BFF, Selena Gomez. The two have not had a photograph together since 2014 at a charity event.
In the photo, the pair looked happy to be reunited.
"Look at how #coolforthesummer we are," Demi Lovato wrote alongside the Instagram photo. "Friends for years, #sameoldlove,"
Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have known eachother since kids - both have starred in "Barney" and later on became two of the most popular Disney stars during their time.
However, over the years, Demi and Selena (DeLena) had fallen apart, starting from the former's struggles with drugs, self-harm, eating disorder and bipolar disease.
When Lovato got admitted into rehab, Gomez admitted to have turned her back on her.
"I've known her since we were 7 and we did fall apart for a while," Gomez told Seventeen Magazine. "She was going through things and I was so young and it was confusing. I processed it saying, 'Okay, I don't understand what she's going through so I'm just going to do this,'"
"I don't think it was fair," Gomez said of being an unsupportive friend to Lovato. "I'm so happy that I have her back in my life now."
After rehab, Lovato revealed feeling alone during rehab and realizing who her real friends are after.
"A couple of months before I went to rehab, I had a birthday party, and there were a couple hundred people there. It was full of people who I considered my closest friends," Lovato reportedly said. "When I turned my phone on after being in rehab for three months, I expected lots of text messages and phone calls,"
Lovato added: "I had four texts. That was a wake-up call."
Over the years, the two former Disney starlets have tried to repair their friendship the way it was before but circumstances have caused them to fall apart again, to the point where Lovato unfollowed Gomez's Instagram and Twitter accounts.
It was only until recently that the "Cool for the Summer" singer started following the "Good For You" singer once again.
