After sharing some posters for his upcoming gothic film, "Crimson Peak," Tom Hiddleston also shared the first ever clip from "I Saw The Light" for the Toronto International Film Festival tomorrow.
The one-minute clip shows the British actor singing "Move It On Over," one of his character Hank Williams' biggest hits in the 1930s. It later transitions to a scene of his wife, Audrey (Elizabeth Olsen) giving instructions to a group of carpenters about some contruction on their home.
"It gives me great pleasure to introduce the first clip from 'I SAW THE LIGHT'. @TIFF_NET tomorrow! #MoveItOnOver," the 34-year-old posted on his Twitter page, along with the video.
The Toronto International Film Festival, set to run from Sept. 10 to 20, will be screening Tom Hiddleston's "I Saw The Light" and "High RiseThe "Thor" actor is already gathering some Oscar buzz for his portrayal of country legend Hank Williams in the film.
However, his invovlvement with the film wasn't welcomed by country music fans at first. Followers of the country music legend protested the idea of having a British actor portraying an American country singer. Despite all of the protests, however, the film's director, Marc Abraham stuck to his decision and had the "Thor" star train under another country legend.
"When people ask me, 'Why'd you get an Englishman?' I say, 'He's the best actor I know to play the part,'" the helmer previously defended his choice to Entertainment Weekly. "Who's the most famous southerner ever portrayed in the movies? Scarlett O'Hara. Who plays her? Vivien Leigh."
He added that Hiddleston was "crazy talented," adding that "If you didn't like him, you'd be jealous of him."
The "Avengers" star reportedly followed country superstar Rodney Crowell around for months to learn the ropes. He worked so hard that the country singer posted a long Facebook status praising him for his work ethics and acting talent.
Crowell thought that the "classically trained British actor" was able to find "his way into the heart of one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time."
