| By

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's first ever wedding anniversary is coming up on Sept. 27 and the A-lister seems to still be in the honeymoon phase with his wife.

Being the first guest on Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show," the "Tomorrowland" star talked to him about his marriage as well as how he feels about being the "arm candy" in the relationship.

"What is it like to be the arm candy in a relationship? She must say, like, 'We're going to meet extremely intelligent people tonight - these are not show folk. Just be shiny and pretty,'" the host asked the actor, according to Today.

"Shiny and pretty - that's mostly what I do,'' Clooney promptly joked right back at the host.

Shooting down naysayers and critics, the actor assured Colbert and the rest of the world that his marriage to his human rights lawyer wife is indeed going pretty great.

"They said it wouldn't last," he commented. "It's going really well."

Despite constantly being seen packing on the PDA during date nights and events, speculations about Goerge Clooney and Amal Alamuddin already on the verge of divorce have been circulating the rumor mill.

Some of the rumors include the UN lawyer making her husband get rid of any ties he had with his former flames.

"Amal ordered George to sell all of his homes that he used to entertain multiple women in when he was one of Hollywood's most sought after bachelors," an insider reportedly told Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

The more positive rumor surrounding the couple is their alleged desire to have a baby.

"George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother," US Weekly reportedly quoted their source as saying. The couple also allegedly visited a fertility clinic to ensure their chances at getting pregnant.
