Fans were left with the huge cliff hanger of Jane and Rafael's son Mateo getting kidnapped by Sin Rostro in the first season.
However, past reports suggested that the new season's plot won't be dwelling too much on that in "Jane The Virgin" season 2.
Head writer and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman previously shared that Mateo will be returned to Jane very early on in the show's sophomore run. How this will happen exactly is still a mystery.
On the other hand, moving the story along will also give way to other interesting plot points for the Emmy-nominated comedy series.
One of the most interesting storyline of the series is Jane's virginity. She intends to keep her promise to only lose it to her husband, but will she be doing so this season?
According to Gina Rodriguez, her onscreen counterpart will definitely walk down the aisle in "Jane The Virgin" season 2! But the question is, to whom will she be saying "I do" to?
"Jane is going to get married, which is a very cool spoiler," the Emmy Award-winning actress revealed to People last week, but she was quick to add that she didn't know who the guy would be exactly.
"It could be a third person, you never know," she continued to tease. However, fans should "definitely look forward to" the Team Michael and Team Rafael love battle.
Urman confirmed as much to Entertainment Weekly as well, adding that "a big development" will be happening next season.
Aside from her impeding wedding, Jane will also be discovering the joys and woes of motherhood.
"Right away in the first episode, you have some real, honest, vulnerable things that happen to Jane that have to do with motherhood," the 31-year-old TV star added.
Find out what else Jane will go through when "Jane The Virgin" season 2 returns on Oct. 12 on the CW.
