Some people consider Aquaman as the lamest member of Justice League.
The fictional character has been receiving many "fish jokes" recently ever since DC Movies confirmed that they will be creating a film about the King of Atlantis.
Vinnie Chase (Adrian Grenier) portrayed the role of the underwater superhero in the "Entourage" movie, which started out rumors that he will be headlining the "Aquaman" movie.
However, the producers offered the role to Jason Momoa, who starred in "Conan the Barbarian" and the popular HBO series "Game of Thrones."
During a panel interview at the Fan Expo in Canada, the 36-year-old actor was asked how he felt about the "Aquaman" fish jokes.
"You know, it's cute and funny, I mean people make fun of him and there's a bunch of jokes about him," Momoa said as reported by Cinema Blend. "But I'm like 'Well... just wait. Let's just wait a little bit. And then we can make jokes..."
The Hawaiian-born actor was also asked if his portrayal of Aquaman was influenced by any of his previous characters. Jason revealed that he brings out the complexity in each character so fans can expect to see an intense portrayal of Arthur Curry, which is the real name of the superhero.
According to the website, Aquaman has strength and durability that can match Superman. Aside from those powers, he can also communicate with marine life and use the oceans as his weapon. A few months ago, Jason Momoa revealed what fans can expect from his character in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
The actor will make his debut as Aquaman in Zack Snyder's upcoming film next year before he headlines James Wan's 2018 DC movie.
"The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing. There's so many things to tell, and there's a whole backstory that's just amazing," he told Entertainment Weekly.
"There's a lot of surprises coming. I think, yeah, he's been cast aside [in the past]. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy," Jason Momoa explained."We don't want to just reinvent it, but [Zack Snyder has] got a whole idea of what Aquaman should be and I'm really honored to be playing it. I'm excited for the world to see it."
