Are Minnesota Timberwolves fans ready for a Ricky Rubio trade?
It seems there is a possibility they will lose their assist specialist by the start of the season as reports claim Wolves are looking for a trade deal for the Spanish point guard.
"I'm hearing that the Minnesota Timberwolves are actually look at potentially moving off of Rubio at this point," Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher said when he revealed of Ricky Rubio trade rumors.
"They've seen enough, and they do not believe that he is the future, in spite of the fact that he's only 24. Now, they've tested the trade waters. I'm hearing that they're quiet right now, but that they could return to looking to see what they could get for Rubio once the season begins and some things shake out for some other teams, because they don't have any specific trade partners at the moment."
These Ricky Rubio trade rumors came out of nowhere as the Minnesota Timberwolves are investing on a young core. They currently have sophomore Zach Lavine and last year's NBA Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins. With these two pairs of young legs, they will need a point guard who can make plays for them like Ricky Rubio.
Although Ricky Rubio trade rumors are persistent, a team is yet to approach Minnesota Timberwolves. Indiana Pacers is a team suggested that will benefit from this but the Eastern Conference franchise hasn't made any comments.
As for Rubio himself, he is confident he will stay with Wolves when the 2015-16 NBA season starts.
"I have confidence that the team wants me but you know in this league anybody can get traded," the 2009 fifth overall draft pick said according to a report by Gulf News. "You don't listen to the rumours. You just live day-by-day and that's it."
