The last time viewers saw the Winchester Brothers (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki), they were trapped in their car while being swallowed by a sinister-looking cloud of darkness after Dean got rid of the Mark of Cain.
Based on recent "Supernatural" season 11 spoilers, they will indeed be able to get out of that predicament but another member of the gang won't be feeling so well.
TVLine published new stills of the series' 11th season, showing the brothers in a hospital. They seem to be trying to protect a newborn from some evil creatures.
It looks like the Winchesters won't be the only ones getting a beating in this episode either. Castiel, (Misha Collins) who viewers left at the mercy of Rowena's attack dog spell, looks like he's still on the verge of mauling everything in his path.
Will Sam and Dean cross paths with the obviously rabid Castiel? Will the usual dry-humored angel stay in this state for a couple more episodes?
"Castiel, first and foremost, has to find a way out of this spell that Rowena has cast on him," Showrunner Jeremy Carver reportedly shared more "Supernatural" season 11 spoilers to TVLine. "That's not as easy as it may sound. Being under the influence of this spell, it's going to lead him to some pretty uncomfortable situations."
On the other hand, Crowley seems to be looking well, despite being pitted by his own mother to the rabid-looking angel.
They might be facing their own problems when the episode premieres on Oct. 7 but they will eventually have to work together, albeit begrudgingly, to face this new mysterious femme fatale who will wreck havoc to the world.
Jensen Ackles previously admitted to Entertainment Weekly that the new big bad, presumably Amara, is not a monster but a "primal force that we know nothing about." Even the angels and demons have no idea who or what the Darkness is.
