"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 episode one will see the arrival of the new captain.
Bill Hader has been cast as the new leader of 99 precinct who will replace Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) after he took another job outside of the office. This new captain will reportedly change the way Precinct 99 runs.
While the pilot episode of the Fox show's third run will start with the introduction of the new captain, it is Jake and Amy that will take away most of the attention.
"The season 3 premiere will pick up, quite literally, where last May's finale left off: with the arrival of the precinct's new captain, to be played by SNL vet Bill Hader," TV Line wrote about "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 air date
Thee website followed it up with a scoop about the personality of the new captain and Jake and Amy's kiss.
"He throws a real wrench into the 9-9," teased co-showrunner Dan Goor.
"He is pathologically obsessed with efficiency, and he makes everyone's life a nightmare. But Jake and Amy will be preoccupied with the aftermath of their storage-room kiss, which gets them thinking about "how work would complicate any potential relationship, and how any potential relationship would complicate work," says Goor.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 episode one was directed by Mike Schur and he was gracious enough to share tidbits on what to expect from the pilot.
"I actually directed the premiere episode and it's very much focused on Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) and their nascent relationship," Schur said in an interview with Deadline.
"Dan Goor really runs that show on a day-to-day basis, but he and the writing staff cooked up a lot of really good cliffhangers at the end of last year. Captain Holt was transferred and Jake and Amy had this kind of romantic kiss after having several undercover kisses, the nature of which were a little nebulous."
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 episode one will air on Sept. 27.
