Laila Ali Has Tip For Ronda Rousey Vs Holly Holm; UFC 193 ‘Came Soon’ Says Preacher’s Daughter

| By

Her fight against Ronday Rousey couldn't have come sooner. That's what undefeated former pro boxer Holly Holm think about their UFC 193 bout this Nov.

Holm, known as the Preacher's Daughter, told MMAJunkie that "there was no hesitation" once the opportunity came to her.

"Did it come sooner than we think? That's not a lie to say yeah, it came soon, but I'm really excited for it," Holm said.

Ever since she joined the UFC, Holm revealed that many have been asking when she'll go in the ring against the Women's Bantamweight champ. Now that the fight has materialized, she said can focus on training for it.

Despite her opponent's string of quick victories, the 33-year-old said she's not intimated because she knows she's "very capable" and has "every bit of confidence walking into [the] fight."

"I'm going up against the best fighter. They aren't calling her the most dominant female fighter. They're calling her the most dominant female athlete, and that's a lot to carry. Do I have to do everything right? Absolutely. But it's possible."

When Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm was announced for UFC 193, MMAJunkie noted how the UFC champ became the bookies' favorite.

But Laila Ali thinks Rousey still has some work to do become an effective boxer. Although Rowdy isn't switching sports, ThePostGame said Ali's advice could come in handy against Holm who is known for her striking prowess.

"The head movement, the way she throws her punches. She's not a boxer. I know she does some training and I don't know what she's going to do, but it's a whole other skill set," the undefeated former pro boxer said.

Ali, daughter of the legendary Muhammad Ali and a former WBC super-middleweight champ herself, said Rousey will have to improve her upper body skills. In particular, she'll have to move her head to avoid getting hit in the ring.

Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm is set for UFC 193 on Nov. 14 at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
