When a performer makes a mistake, he or she has to keep the show going. That's exactly what happened when members of Kpop group Gfriend slipped on the stage of a music festival in Gangwon, South Korea not just once but over five times!
According to Mirror UK, it was a "perfect storm of rain and dead moths" right when the six-member girl group got on the stage to perform their song, "Me Gustas Tu."
The first fall happened right away, with member Yuju (who slipped several times) faceplanting the stage just seconds into their performance. Despite what looked like a "pretty bad fall," she reportedly "got up immediately, smiling throughout the act."
Another member, SinB, also slipped during the performance, but like Yuju, quickly got up and executed the routine seamlessly. Umji also lost her footing but managed to catch up.
The rest of the girls, Sowon, Yerin, and Eunha, carried on with the dance, occasionally helping their fallen members get up from a blunder.
Time reported that the girls of Kpop group Gfriend slipped a total of eight times during the four-minute performance.
Their professionalism was seen as admirable by the audience that night. Mirror reported that a collective chanting of "It's okay!" went through crowd as the girls left the stage.
Time admired their determination to get through the performance "like true professionals," while Mashable thought that Yuju should get a raise.
Nevertheless, the fan-taken video of the performance also gained the sympathy and admiration of other people who don't even like Kpop.
"I just bought their song on iTunes, which is not even my style of music, just because these young girls deserve success for pushing through this. That's real heart!" a Youtube viewer commented on the video of Kpop group Gfriend slipping during their performance.
On the other hand, others blamed the organizers of the show for allowing the girls to continue with their act even with the dangerous conditions.
The video has attracted 2.8 million viewers as of press time. Watch the clip here.
