Ed Sheeran Confirms Lion Tattoo Plus Posts Another Shirtless Selfie On Instagram!

Ed Sheeran's lion tattoo is not a joke!

The "Thinking Out Loud" singer confirmed the existence of the massive lion ink on his chest in a series of hilarious selfies on Instagram over the weekend.

Joking about his new album being country (he's currently on the US leg of his "Multiply" tour), he posted a snap of himself in a cowboy hat and his usual plaid shirt. He even got the smolder down pat.

"'Beer, boots and boobs' out now in all good record stores," he captioned the shot, but the hilarity didn't stop there.

He followed that up with a snap of himself wearing nothing but the cowboy hat and his Calvin Klein boxers, captioning it "The stripped version of 'Beer, boots and boobs ' is out next month."

Aside from the rare sight of Sheeran without a shirt, the huge lion on his chest also caught his followers' attention, which caused confusion over the past couple of weeks.

The mystery of Ed Sheeran's lion tattoo started when the British singer showed off the impressive ink on Instagram. He eventually had to defend it to followers who didn't like it and called it ugly.

"All this kerfuffle over a tattoo. If it was black and white saying a clever phrase in a language I can't speak no one would've said anything," he ranted on Twitter, adding that "It's not the first weird tattoo I've got and it won't be the last, but I like all of them."

However, he seemed to have pulled a prank on everyone when he uploaded a photo of his seemingly bare chest and told everyone that the controversial new body art wasn't real. He quickly followed up with a shot of the real deal - his tattoo being covered up for a TV show.

Several people, who voiced out their strong dislike for the tat, rejoiced at the announcement. That didn't last long, however, as the acoustic crooner finally showed the world a complete shot of the ink.

According to the Grammy-nominated singer, he chose the lion to commemorate his sold out Wembley Arena shows last July. It was to signify the English football team's logo.
