"The Big Bang Theory" cast are not as funny as their characters are in the series, in fact, some of them are quite "mean," according to their former Second Assistant Director, Christopher Klausen, who recently sued Warner Bros. for "age discrimination."
Klausen recently filed a complaint to the Los Angeles Superior Court against "The Big Bang Theory's" parent company, Warner Bros. for allegedly firing him over being too old for the show.
Based on the 25-page complaint obtained by Deadline, filed 55-year-old Klausen, since he turned 50 years old five years ago, he had been demoted many times in the show.
Before he was laid off, Klausen said his various roles on the set were reassigned to younger people.
"(The) defendants admitted that Mr. Klausen's duties were being reassigned to a younger employee because of his age," according to the filed complaint.
Upon turning 50, the Second Assistant Director also noticed a change in the way "The Big Bang Theory" cast members treated him.
"As a Second Assistant Director, a major aspect of Mr. Klausen's job duties involved interacting and working with the actors on a daily basis," the complaint document said.
"This included serving as a liaison to the actors, making sure the actors are prepared for each scene, and putting the actors through wardrobe and makeup. Mr. Klausen noticed that the stars of the show, which are all considerably younger, began to ostracize him after he turned 50 years old,"
Eventually, Klausen's role in terms of "interacting" with the actors, was given to Nicole Lorre and T. Ryan Brennan and when Klausen confronted "TBBT" producer, Faye Oshima Belyeu about the job reassignment, she allegedly told Klausen that Lorre "related to the actors better."
"The only reason that Ms. Lorre and Mr. Brennan 'related to the actors better' are because they are younger than Mr. Klausen," the document indicated.
Nevertheless, "The Big Bang Theory" cast and crew are set for Season 9 on Sept. 21, Monday, wherein Executive Producer Steve Molaro recently promised big and exciting things for the show's couples Sheldon and Amy, as well as Leonard and Penny.
