Toyota confirmed that it will unveil its Prius 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada tomorrow.
Reportedly, the event will be exclusive to media outlets, while expectators may watch the event through live stream which starts at 9 p.m (PTD). (You may click here for the Toyota Prius 2016 Live Stream.)
Though the event is only hours away, leakers have already gave an sight on what to expect on the Toyota Prius 2016. According to Digital Trends, the fourth generation Prius will boast an "ultra-modern look" and resembles a similar design from Toyota's hydrogen cell powered Mirai as revealed by a Malaysian Toyota Prius group on Facebook.
The Prius 2016 adopts Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA) which means it is "lighter and more efficient than the current model." Some Toyota and Lexus upcoming vehicles which include the next Yaris and compact SUVs will support this platform as well, Car Buyers UK reported.
As per Master Herald, the base model of the Prius 2016 will boast a "staple nickel-metal-hydride battery pack" and the premium model will have a lithium-ion battery which could run the vehicle 30 miles using purely electricity.
Under the hood, its thermal energy is rumored to have increased by 40 percent - the highest efficiency level on thermal energy. Inside, it has "white trim, a new steering wheel with three spokes, a large infotainment display, a transmission indicator, an upper display with the car's speedometer, and live-data information," Christian Post added.
Like the previous model, it comes with transmission with four modes: Normal, Power, Eco, and EV.
Meanwhile, its new driving system dubbed as "e-4WD" will only allow 37kmph, however will provide better grip on "poor weather conditions," Auto Express reported.
