"Mr. Robot" finale finally went down after being canceled for one week and it certainly fried everyone's mind more than the earlier episodes.
In fact, "Mr. Robot" reviews rating in Rotten Tomatoes is at 100 percent.
Although the penultimate episode could be among the most satisfying among all first season finales of any series, it still left a lot of questions.
Things that stood out in "Mr. Robot" finale episode:
Things started to connect in "Mr. Robot" finale episode, including the small victories Elliot Anderson (Rami Malek) achieved in earlier part of the season.
Although the whole 54-minute of the hit USA Network series is generally tensed and mind boggling, there are some moments that made fans smile. A special mention for that is the inclusion of Ashley Madison which made headlines a few weeks ago.
"Mr. Robot" mentioned the dating site earlier but it made bigger impact in the finale since it was hacked by a team called "The Impact Team" a few weeks ago.
It's funnier because the show also focuses on the hacking world. The inclusion of Aslhey Madison in "Mr. Robot" finale is one of the greatest coincidences intelevison and series creator Sam Esmail finds it weird.
"It was. The weird thing is that in the pilot, Ashley Madison was one of his vices," Esmail told Entertainment Weekly for "Mr. Robot" finale postmortem interview.
"When this whole thing happened, it was something that I was going to use in the season finale, when I wrote that scene, but then I was like, 'Well, I already mentioned Ashley Madison. How many references can we have?' So I kind of edited it out. When we were reshooting it, this whole hack happened, so I thought this was perfect. In post, I thought, 'I have to put this back in.'"
Aside from Ashley Madison, another moment that made fans smile in the middle of one-hour nerve-jangling episode is the re-appearance of White Rose (BD Wong) who instantly won fans despite having only around three minutes of exposure. Good news to fans, Esmail said there will be more of White Rose in second season.
"BD Wong is one of my favorite actors, and I've always dreamed of working with him. I'm so happy that I got a chance to work with him. He loves the show thankfully. I definitely think that we'll see more of him for sure, if I have anything to say about it," he said.
As for Christian Slater who is brilliant as "prophet" Mr. Robot" to Malek's "god" Elliot, he will not go anywhere.
"The way Sam described it to me - but honestly, I have the same question - he said, 'Elliot without Mr. Robot is like Bruce Banner without the Hulk," Slater told EW in a separate interview when asked about his character in "Mr. Robot" season 2.
"Whenever Elliot is backed into a corner or needs some information or feeling scared," he explained.
"There are going to be times when Mr. Robot is going to have to take over and be that slightly more fearless, maybe more dangerous and crazier character. And there are a lot of secrets that Mr. Robot still possesses. Elliot doesn't necessarily know that he has the answers himself, but I don't think Mr. Robot is going to let on until he's ready for Elliot and his abilities to be able to deal with those answers."
