While fans are anxiously waiting for the official announcement to "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 release date, there have been reports suggesting that the highly anticipated anime is not happening anytime soon if not at all.
Apparently, the reports were based on the fact that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 ending deviated from the manga.
Yibada has posted a series of comments from fans claiming that it would be hard for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 to continue with how things ended in season 2.
"Honestly, there would be a lot of issues in doing a third season considering how far the second season deviated from the manga. Unless the third season is another anime-original piece," a fan named Harostar claimed.
Adding, "The decisions to skip out on entire story arcs and derail the development of several characters would make adapting ":Re" very difficult.
And while "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3's fate remains in the unknown, When-will.net is confident that the anime will push through and it will feature a whole new story based on the manga, where Kaneki joins CCG.
"The series is so popular that the release of a sequel would make sense," the publication pointed out.
Furthermore, it noted that if the creators of the anime decide to pursue with the story "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 release date would most likely happen "in the fall of 2016."
Meanwhile, "Tokyo Ghoul Jack" OVA has already debuted its trailer, which featured the introduction of key characters.
It will be released in limited theaters in Japan on Sept. 5 and officially released on Sept. 30.
