Fans where certainly left disappointed when Cote de Pablo deicided to leave "NCIS" after season 11, however her recent interview has left fans thinking that she's teasing the return of the well-loved character, Ziva, in season 13.
Talking to TVLine, the 35-year-old Chilean-American actress talked about her character Ziva and a possible return to "NCIS."
"I think the fact that they never killed the character off is very telling," de Pablo teased. "Under the right circumstances, I think it could definitely be explored."
As "NCIS" season 13 nears its premiere, fans are now getting excited to see what is install for the show and many are hopeful that CBS would indeed bring back Ziva in the game.
While the giant studio has yet to confirm or deny the speculation, Cote de Pablo admitted that her exit from "NCIS" was somewhat "rushed."
"I would have liked a little bit of closure," she explained.
"But I think all in all I could not be more blessed, because I got a chance to be with my 'love,' Michael [Weatherly, who plays Tony]. Any time you put Michael and I together there's going to be a spark, and there's going to be real honesty, and for that I am forever grateful. Because in that sense there was a sense of conclusion as far as what [the characters] felt for each other."
However, Cote de Pablo clarified that she felt "no second thoughts" about leaving the long-running show.
"I'm very happy with my choices," she clarified. "I spent time with family, which was incredibly important for me. I've had time to deal with me, which I couldn't really do for a long time, so I'm blessed for that."
And while it's not yet clear if she'll return to "NCIS" season 13, Cote de Pablo expressed her appreciation to the fans who has shown their "outpouring love" to her and her character Ziva during the eight years she spent with the show.
"When you make decisions like this, you never expect for people to fully understand," she said. "So it was really delicious to feel that kind of love and I'm always grateful for that."
"NCIS" season 13 premiere episode will debut on Sept. 22 at 8pm on CBS.
