Daniel Craig has starred as James Bond for more than 10 years and he can be seen next in "Spectre."
The movie will be shown in theaters on Nov. 26 and will also feature Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, and Lea Seydoux.
Playing the role of Agent 007 for so long now would have made the actor love his character more, but that seems not to be the case. During an interview with Esquire, the British heartthrob confessed what he would like to see in James Bond.
"Hopefully my Bond is not as sexist and misogynistic as [earlier incarnations]. The world has changed," Craig said as reported by Huffingtonpost. "I am certainly not that person. But he is, and so what does that mean? It means you cast great actresses and make the parts as good as you can for the women in the movies."
James Bond is known for being a ladies' man, but Daniel is quite the opposite of the character. He's been married to Rachel Weisz since 2011 and they both have a child from their previous partner. The actor has a 23-year-old daughter from Fiona Loudon while the actress has a nine-year-old son from Darren Aronofsky.
Daniel Craig tried not to judge James Bond, but he admitted that he's not fond of his character's personality which includes being a womanizer.
"I don't know if I'd like to spend too much time with him," he said. The Hollywood actor also hinted that "Spectre" could be his last movie playing Agent 007 but that does not mean he will retire from acting. "I don't know what I'd do with myself if I didn't act," he told the magazine.
If it is true that Craig will bid farewell to the popular film series, then he will be replaced by another actor. During an interview with Details, one of the previous "James Bond" actors was asked his thoughts on having a gay Agent 007.
"Sure. Why not?
Actually, I don't know how it would work. I don't think Barbara (Broccoli, the 'James Bond' producer) would allow a gay Bond to happen in her lifetime. But it would certainly make for interesting viewing," Pierce Brosnan said.
"Let's start with a great black actor being James Bond. Idris Elba certainly has the physicality, the charisma, the presence. But I think Daniel [Craig] will be there for a while yet," he added.
Maybe "Spectre" won't be Daniel Craig's last movie for the franchise after all.
