"Supergirl" TV series cast line up is growing as its release date approaches.
IGN reported "24" and "Transformers" movie series alum Glenn Morshower has landed an important "Supergirl" role.
"When DC Comics character General Sam Lane makes his debut on Supergirl, he'll be portrayed by an actor who has plenty of experience playing military men, as IGN can exclusively reveal that Glenn Morshower has been cast in the recurring role on CBS's new fall series," the website wrote.
This new "Supergirl" TV series cast will play a different role compared to his comic counterpart.
"The Supergirl version of General Lane is described as a powerful military lifer -- and an overprotective father to both Lucy Lane and her sister, Lois. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative."
A day before, CBS also confirmed Red Tornado is coming to the show. Comicbook.com reported Iddo Goldberg (Salem, Peaky Blinders) will join "Supergirl" TV series cast as Red Tornado's alter ego Dr. T.O. Morrow. Just like other characters, the Red Tornado in the CBS TV series will undergo some changes, drastic changes that is.
"According to Warner Bros. Television, Red Tornado is the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate superweapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City -- including the people Supergirl cares about most," Comicbook.com wrote.
"In what way Goldberg will play both Morrow and the Red Tornado isn't clear. While the character has often been imbued with the personality of a human in the comics, Morrow isn't Red Tornado, just the android's inventor. He's also evil, while Red Tornado is a hero and longtime Justice League member. (Red Tornado also served as a mentor to Young Justice when that team first assembled under the pen of longtime Supergirl writer Peter David.)
It's possible that an accident could fuse the two, accounting for Red Tornado's deviant behavior, or that Morrow could have built the android based on himself and Goldberg would be doing only voice work for the android, but acting as Morrow physically."
"Supergirl" TV series cast is headlined by Melissa Benoist who portrays the title role, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers. The show will air its first episode on October 26.
