Probably the first of many "Scandal" season 5 spoilers to come and watch out, this is a big one.
There is not much news about the returning ABC thriller since it ended its fourth season last May. However, when it does give one, it sends fans into frenzy.
Deadline reported Mia Maestro is set to join "Scandal" season 5 for a recurring role. Who she will play? It is still a secret.
"The Strain star Mia Maestro has been tapped for a major recurring role on the upcoming fifth season of ABC's Washington, D.C., drama series Scandal," the website wrote.
"As is the case with most castings on Shonda Rhimes series, the character Maestro will play is being kept under wraps."
Aside from "The Strain", Mia Maestro is also notable for her appearances in other successful shows like "Person of Interest" and "White Collar." She has good track record when it comes to television.
"This marks Maestro's return to ABC, where she had a heavily recurring role on another popular drama series, Alias, as Jennifer Garner's sister. The Twilight Saga alumna Maestro, who also is is a singer-songwriter, is repped by ICM Partners," Deadline added.
In earlier "Scandal" season 5 spoilers," series creator Shonda Rhimes revealed premiere episode will start with main cast in terrible situations except for Oliver Pope (Kerry Washington) and Fitz Grant (Tony Goldwyn) who are back in each other's arms.
"That was a pretty harrowing place where the world had been blown apart for everybody except for Olivia and Fitz, who were left on the Truman balcony ... doing some kissin'," Shonda said during the TCA press tour as reported by Deadline.
"But everybody else was in a fairly low-at-heart place. Mellie wasn't living in the White House because Fitz kicked her out. Jake said he was walking away. Quinn was thinking about killing Huck. Things weren't going so well for people, and we pick up right there in that environment."
Expect more "Scandal" season 5 spoilers in the coming weeks. Show will return on September 24.
