"Orange is the New Black" gets renewed for season 4, Netflix has announced and there's a special addition to the cast, according to rumors.
Season 3 got us all on a cliff hanger as it concluded with Piper Chapman and Alex Piper calling it quits and Alex ending possibly dead.
According to actress Laura Prepon, who plays the role of Alex in the hit Netflix series, her character will try to bring back the "old Piper," after slowly turning "dark" in the 3rd season.
"She sees through all of Piper's BS. And that's why they're such a cool relationship," Prepon said in an interview with Speakeasy. "And I think that Alex knows that she's putting it on - it's not really her. It's one of the reasons why Alex dumped [Piper] in Season 3. She's just like, 'Listen, this is kind of gross, and where's the real Piper?'"
But as "Orange is the New Black" is renewed for season 4, Prepon revealed that she will return.
And judging by Prepon's Instagram posts, she's still pretty much a part of the Litchfield Penitentiary.
"Yeah, it is a little bit of a giveaway, when you see pictures of us on set," the actress said.
The actress also revealed that Piper will undergo interesting changes in the show's 4th season.
"It's really fun where Piper is right now," Prepon said. "I think she's really going to keep scrambling to keep her sense of self intact. When it feels like it's bottoming out, that's when you try harder to control things,"
On the other hand, Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly being approached by the Netflix hit series producers to make a cameo role in its 4th season.
According to an insider for OK! Magazine, Caitlyn's character would be perfect for Laverne Cox's character, transgender "Sophia," who was abandoned by her prison friends in season 3.
"Laverne though Caitlyn's personal narrative would dovetail nicely with the story line of her character, Sophia, whose prison pals turned on her last season," the source said.
"It's the perfect time for Caitlyn to come in and help Sophia take a stand against the bullies," the insider added. "Plus, with Cait's popularity, she'd surely draw more viewers,"
