When characters die in "Supernatural," they don't really stay dead.
Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and others proved this theory over and over in the past decade. It seems this running theme doesn't just apply to the show's onscreen story but behind the scenes as well.
Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester, reportedly found his original "baby" from the first season and he couldn't contain his excitement.
"While filming yesterday I noticed an old hollowed out car sitting off in the background. I wandered over and there she was. 10 years later. The ORIGINAL Impala from season 1. The one that got hit by the truck in the finale," he posted on Facebook, along with pictures of the hollowed out 1967 Chevrolet Impala.
"That's right, we still have her. I had no idea. It's been over a decade since I've seen this car, and yet she's still here...hiding in the shadows. I guess you're never really dead on this show. #Nostalgia #Baby."
Apart from "Supernatural" stars Ackles, Padalecki (Sam Winchester), Misha Collins (Castiel), and Mark Sheppard (Crowley), the Impala had become a constant for "Supernatural" fans over the years. It all stemmed from Dean's obsessive attachment to his "baby" right on the onset of the show.
Later, as the series progressed, it became a memory box of some sort for both the Winchesters (emphasized during the fifth season finale) and even the fans.
In fact, an entire episode dedicated to Dean's "baby" is currently in production for "Supernatural" season 11.
"It's going to touch on, 'What happens in the moment when they agree to take a case and normally you cut to whatever and they're walking in? What if you stayed in the Impala for another five minutes? What do they talk about then?'" executive producer Jeremy Carver pointed out during the San Diego Comic Con last July.
