McDonald's is rolling out three new varieties of its signature Quarter Pounder Burger in June which will include bacon habanero ranch, deluxe and bacon and cheese.
"We know that larger sandwiches, both new and core, power our topline growth and the work we've done to build our premium beef burgers is just one way we brought this principle to life," he said. "These (Quarter Pounder) sandwiches offer even more variety and they build on the core burger lineup our customers know and love."
The new offerings include:
- Bacon Habanero Ranch:Quarter Pounder Burger with white cheddar, new thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and a spicy habanero ranch sauce;
- Deluxe:Quarter Pounder Burger with American cheese, tomato, lettuce, crinkle-cut pickle slices, red onion, mayonnaise and mustard; and
- Bacon & Cheese:Quarter Pounder Burger with new thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, crinkle cut pickle slices, red onion, ketchup and mustard.
The world's largest restaurant chain is struggling to revamp its menu and draw customers from competitors after failing to introduce enough new products last year. McDonald's, which has about 14,100 U.S. locations, is also trying to introduce such lower-calorie options as egg-white sandwiches, as Americans try to eat healthier.
