It's natural for fans to ask spoiler news specially when it comes to big-budget films.
"Star Trek 3" is definitely one of those big films with a cult following, thus it's not surprising if there would be spoiler news now and then.
However, Simon Pegg, who is not only going to return as an actor to the highly anticipated scifi film, but screen writing as well, has a message to media outlets who are taking advantage of the fans' desire to learn more about the movie.
In an interview with Associated Press as reported by IB Times, the 45-year-old English actor expressed his disappointment for the continuous leaking of spoiler news, not only with "Stark Trek 3," but will all the other movies.
"It is difficult because you want to sing it to the world. I've had a picture on my phone of me hugging Chewbacca that I'd been holding on to for months that I haven't been able to show anybody. But these days there's a culture of spoiler-ism that exists because people want to get their websites traffic... it's a little selfish."
Pegg also has a message to fans, who are becoming impatient of the upcoming movies.
"You're essentially destroying that very thing by increments," Pegg said, "If you're going to go see Star Wars, don't watch the trailers. Just wait. Be patient. Sit in that movie house and let it all be a surprise. That's the best way to watch a movie."
He did however assure fans that "Star Trek 3" is going to be a blast.
"It's going to be spectacular, but we're going to underpin that with some genuine 50th Anniversary ideas about what's happening in our world and the Star Trek world and try to make it a bit thoughtful too."
Pegg previously shared to Den of Geek that they had start from scratch when he joined the screen writing team.
"We went back to the drawing board", he explained. "We had creative meetings with [director] Justin Lin, and there were things he wanted in there. I haven't written like this before... You're given a bunch of stuff... so Doug and I go, 'Okay, right, let's try and get that into it'. So it's an interesting process".
