Piers Morgan is at it again slamming Jeremy Clarkson's new show on Amazon, co-presented with James May and Richard Hammond, saying it won't be the runaway success "Top Gear" was.
"I think they'll do well with the online show, but what they won't do is have a big audience in [the UK]," he told Radio Times.
"They'll quickly realize - as I did after leaving 'Britain's Got Talent' - that when you're on these huge shows, you can't walk around for being mobbed by people, but then the oxygen of that fame very quickly diminishes. I would imagine within two years they'll have a very successful show, just not many people will be watching it in [the UK]," he added.
The former CNN host also offered his two cents on Clarkson, May and Hammond's fame after signing with the US-based online retail giant.
"They'll be able to walk around the streets and, I imagine to Clarkson's horror, he won't be getting mobbed."
Piers Morgan ribbing Jeremy Clarkson's new show on Amazon "undoubtedly won't come as a surprise to fans," according to The Daily Mirror. The "Life Stories" presenter reportedly claimed to have been permanently scarred after the then "Top Gear" frontman punched him at the 2004 British Press Awards.
Morgan did say that they have called a truce after a drinking session last year, as Franchise Herald reported earlier this month.
Still, the 50-year-old television personality won't be tuning in to catch Clarkson, Hammond and May when their yet-to-be-named motoring show premieres on Amazon Prime. Instead, he revealed he's waiting to see what new host Chris Evans will do with "Top Gear."
"I think Chris will be good on 'Top Gear.' It'll be very interesting. He's a massive car enthusiast, he's a great broadcaster, I'm interested to see what he does," he told Radio Times.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said earlier that he's "very excited" for Jeremy Clarkson's new show. Reports suggested that Clarkson, Hammond and May were £160 million to make the "Top Gear" rival. It is expected to premiere sometime next year.
