"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 premiere will open the show with a new captain. Last season's finale saw Captain Holt (Andy Braugher) leave Precinct 99 for a PR job.
This season, a new captain will take over to be played by Bill Hader. Reports have it that he will change the way the precinct runs. He will also meet his new subordinates right in the first few minutes of the show.
Most fans are excited for the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 premiere so they can finally have a look on the new boss. The thing though is he will not be the focus of the episode.
Instead, it will be spent more to pick up the story between Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero). Pilot episode director Mike Schur said the romance between the two will be among the firsts to be answered this new season.
"I actually directed the premiere episode and it's very much focused on Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) and their nascent relationship," Schur said in an interview with Deadline.
"Dan Goor really runs that show on a day-to-day basis, but he and the writing staff cooked up a lot of really good cliffhangers at the end of last year. Captain Holt was transferred and Jake and Amy had this kind of romantic kiss after having several undercover kisses, the nature of which were a little nebulous."
Schur added that "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 premiere will not leave fans hanging when it comes to other cliffhangers they laid out during last season's finale.
"The goal of this premiere was to say, "We're not going to leave anybody hanging. We're going to answer all the questions you have about those cliffhangers in the first episode." You see Captain Holt in his new position in the PR department with Gina, and his new life is described in the first episode."
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 premiere is on September 27.
