Recent "Gotham" season 2 spoilers said Fox TV series drama's return is to tell the story of the rise of the villains.
For new cast members James Frain and Jessica Lucas, who will play Theo and Tabitha Galavan, respectively, it is not like that. Second season will be more like the rise of Bruce Wayne who is played by David Mazouz.
"That's true! I know it's called the "rise of the villains,"" Frain said in an interview with Comicbook.com.
"But I feel like this season is really the "rise of Bruce." He now is starting to know who he is, and is coming into himself, and really painting a picture of a world that's so corrupt that it needs him. It needs a hero. That need of a hero is what drives this season: who can become that? Who can fill that void? There are a lot of people competing for it."
David Mazouz said it himself. His character will undergo major transformation as signaled by Bruce's discovery of a secret room within the Wayne Manor. He said the young Wayne heir will now play with the bigwigs of the underworld.
"I think over the year I just kind of learned who Bruce was: his weaknesses, his strengths, the things that he likes to do, the things he doesn't - I really got to know who Bruce Wayne is," Mazouz said in a separate interview with Comicbook.com.
"With that knowledge, I'm able to bring a whole new approach to season 2. That approach is that I think Bruce in season 1 was very honest, and very straight-forward, whereas in season 2 he learns that you can't be that way in Gotham. (laughs) There's a game you have to play. It's a game of manipulation, a game of corruption, and Bruce is going to start to play it."
Both Theo and Tabitha Galavan are contracted for multiple episodes and will be among the villains in the show. For more "Gotham" season 2 spoilers, click here.
