‘Doctor Who’ Season 9: Peter Capaldi Says Maisie Williams 'Has To Cover Quite A Range’

She may only appear in two episodes of "Doctor Who" season 9 but it looks like "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams' talent will be put to good use, according to Peter Capaldi.

"You'll see what she does on the show, she has to cover quite a range, she has to be quite different in different episodes, and she does it quite beautifully and subtly," Capaldi told a group of reporters visiting the show's set which included Den of Geek.

Whovians first saw the 18-year-old Brit in the first "Doctor Who" season 9 trailer where she was recognized by the Doctor. This led many to believe that she's playing a character from the Time Lord's past.

However, show runner Steven Moffat went on record this month to debunk the Maisie Williams role theories, as Franchise Herald previously reported.

"She's a brand new character, she's not someone from the Doctor's past," he said.

Moffat did assure fans that Williams will be in "a significant role" and that "she's terrific in it."

She is set to appear in episodes five and six, titled "The Girl Who Died" and "The Woman Who Lived." Peter Capaldi described the two-parter to SFX Magazine as "exceptional," according to Doctor Who TV.

"The first part features Vikings fighting mercenary robots (and a dragon!) and the second one sees a group of Highwaymen dealing with a Norse god," he told the publication.

Capaldi also revealed how it was like working with Williams when the cameras aren't rolling.

"It's great to have somebody who's eighteen around, because she's full of fun and vigour and life and she's not spoiled."

But the "sharp, talented tornado" could prove too much at times especially when her hit HBO show is concerned, according to the 57-year-old actor.

"She starts telling me ['Game of Thrones' gossip] and then she starts revealing things I don't want to know so I have to get her to be quiet."

CinemaBlend said "GoT" spoilers are the weapon of choice for Arya Stark on the set of "Doctor Who" for "anyone who would wind [her] up."
