Neymar To Officially Transfer To Manchester United Line Up? Is He Leaving Barcelona?

| By

After losing to Chelsea for the services of Pedro, Manchester United is now working for a Neymar transfer bid, reports say.

In fact, the English Premier League club have already made a £140m bid for the Brazilian superscorer. Signing the 23-year old comes with a high price and the Red Devils are only one of the few clubs who has the machinery to do so.

Neymar transfer is something that has been going on in the mind of Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal. In recent interview, the Dutch coach said the Barcelona football star is someone who 'fits the bill' as they are still in search of a world class, instant scorer.

"When he is the best striker in the world then, yes, we need him, but that's what I have been saying for two months," Van Gaal said.

"He has to contribute but when he cannot contribute in our eyes, then we won't buy any striker. But when he does, we shall buy."

Although there is an offer, Barcelona president Joseph Maria Bartomeu insists a Neymar transfer to Manchester United is unlikely. He even sees Neynar to retire at Camp Nou.

"Those are just rumours and what people write but there is nothing to it," Bartomeu told Catalan radio station Catalunya Radio.

"Neymar is happy at Barca. We don't want Neymar to leave at all.

"He is a young player that has an international football projection above the norm. He has helped us a lot in our recent successes.

"In a few months' time we will discuss his contract extension as he has three years left on his current deal. We want him to stay for many years, three, five, 10 or even 15 years more with us."

Neymar, who is one third of Barcelona's triumvirate together with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, is still young and has definitely accomplished a lot. Too bad for Manchester United, Barca wants to keep him locked.
