Confirmed! One Direction Boyband Breaks Up After 5th Album – Harry, Niall, Louis And Liam Take A 'Long Hiatus'

| By

After months of "One Direction" break-up news and rumors, it has been confirmed - the British boyband is breaking up!

What will become of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan after their 5th album?

According to reports, the boys of "One Direction" agreed to take a "long hiatus" starting March next year. According to a source, the British crooners have also decided not to go on tour for their 5th album.

The decision came just months after another member, Zayn Malik, decided to leave the group.

"The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband," the source reportedly told The Sun newspaper. "They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 per cent behind the decision."

The "One Direction" break-up news was also confirmed by former X-Factor judge, Louis Walsh, who helped make the pop stars' careers.

According to him, taking a long hiatus now is the perfect time, when the group is at the peak of success.

"It's the best way to go out when you go out on a high and they have been phenomenal," Louis told Mirror. "They are global stars and their success has been amazing."

The former judge also believes the boyband's break could take up to 5 years.

"It's not the end, they will give it five or six years. I'd imagine and then they will get back together. Nothing has gone wrong, it's just that they need a break," he said.

Asked what the boys will do with their down time, Walsh believes each "1-D" member would be pursuing their own paths.

"For me, Harry will be the biggest star, Liam is a brilliant songwriter and producer so he might go down that route while Louis might go into management or buy a record label," he said. "But Niall is the dark horse - if you ask me he's the one to watch."
