Despite reports that the upcoming Google Nexus phone has promising features, rumors and photo leaks show that the design looks a bit "ugly" with the camera bump.
For consumers, whose one of primary concerns is aesthetics, the Google Nexus phone may not be the best option according to rumors.
The Verge reported that the new Google Nexus phones are rumored to have a small circle on the back of the handset which is believed to be a fingerprint scanner, as seen on the leaked photos published by the website.
Another leaked image showed that the new Google Nexus phone is rumored to have dual speakers producing stereo sound from the front of the handset.
Not only these, the website also reported more photos of the Huawei Google Nexus phone posted on Weibo and it will supposedly have a "USB Type-C port" under the smartphone with 64GB internal storage and 3GB RAM.
For many, these features seem to lag behind the sleek designs of leading smartphones from Apple and Samsung. Are the new Google Nexus phones ready for competition?
A website devoted to publishing Android-related content has its own version of what the Google Nexus phone will look like. Rumors cited on the website said that the screen of the handset will be at 5.7-inches, roughly the same size as Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
"We have seen or heard very few details on what this Huawei-made Nexus phone could look like, but we can tell you one thing - it will be large," Android Authority said.
As for the display, Android Authority noted that the Huawei-made Google Nexus phone will have a panel with a QHD resolution display at 2560x1440p, with a pixel density of 515 per inch.
"Rumors about the new Nexus devices both show images in renders and photos of a small circular part on the back of the handset," a report on Forbes said. "Many say that this will be a fingerprint scanner, something that Google will need to prioritize now it's about to launch Android Pay."
