Following the release of their 2013 album "The Paradigm Shift," Korn is now reportedly gearing up for a new record.
And according to guitarists Munky and Head, the new album will be somehow different from their previous records.
Pop Break reported that guitarists Brian "Head" Welch and James "Munky" Shaffer have already shared their thoughts on what fans could expect of Korn's new album.
Compared to their previously released albums, the upcoming record is said to be heavier and will feature "dirtier" riffs.
"Keep the melodic elements of what we captured on the last record but really expand on the heavy riffs and get a bit dirtier," Shaffer revealed. "Maybe a little longer songs with longer intros, and a little more math rock, not prog-rocky but maybe some slower tempoed grooves that are 7/8 or 3/4 timing and stuff like that."
In addition, Shaffer compared Korn with other bands who continuously claim that every album is different from the other.
"It's about taking chances and going out on a limb," he added. "You hear a lot of bands say how every album is a chance to reinvent yourself. For us, I really feel like we've gone out on a f-ing plank because sometimes there's no turning back. You have to commit to it and sometimes it's like 'Eh, I don't know,' and you kind of let go and see what happens."
In line with their new album Korn also taked about performing their self-titled debut album, which was released in 1994 in a mini tour to be held in October.
In his interview with Rolling Stone, Shaffer shared that the band is looking forward to go on a mini tour in lieu with the 20th anniversary of their first album.
"We were all sitting in the car, listening to one of the rough mixes [of the whole album], and I just remember all of us like getting goosebumps," Munky previously said of the album. "We called it 'the Watch,' 'cause you kinda look at your arm and you look like you're looking at a watch. We all had goosebumps."
