Now that Brandon Flowers is busy with his solo career, doing tours and promoting his work, it seems like there is no chance that he'll work with The Killers again.
However, in his recent interview with NME as reported by Pop Crush, Flowers admitted that he is missing performing with his band mates after they went on their separate ways.
"I can't believe it's been five years," Flowers confessed. "Being onstage without them...it is different. I try to look for the similarities rather than dwell on the differences, because I need that comfort, I guess."
His statement immediately fueled hopes that he is going to work on a new album with The Killers again.
Furthermore, Flowers' recent decision to cancel at least six of his tours also sparked rumors that he might indeed be considering working on a new album with The Killers.
"To the Southeastern stronghold, I am sorry I canceled on such short notice," he announced in a report by RTT News . "Family needed me in LV. Everything is copacetic."
But while he cancelled his tours, Flowers managed to explain why he wanted to pursue a solo career despite the huge success of The Killers.
"I've been used to more of a polarizing situation, and that usually goes in my favor," he explained. "I think if somebody really hates it or people really love it, then it usually works out. But this time it's been a lot more positive and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."
"I don't think that far! I don't know where The Killers are gonna be, and where our head space is gonna be after each record."
Rolling Stone on the other hand claimed that there is a possibility for The Killers to release a new album and perform on the stage together.
"I get it," Flowers explained after hearing rumors of a breakup from the band. "There are a couple of remarks made by Dave [Keuning], our guitar player, that made it sound a little bit more ominous than it really was. And so it makes people wonder. But, no, everything is fine."
