The wait is finally over, Bon Jovi has release its new album titled, "Burning Bridges."
The title of the new album has immediately gained controversy as fans started to speculate that it had something to do with Richie Sambora's exit from the American rock band.
"Burning Bridges" is the first album following Sambora's "sudden exit" and frontman, Jon Bon Jovi has shared that their new album is a great reflection to all the hurdles that the band had to go through last year.
"A lot happened," Bon Jovi said. "Richie's sudden departure, my trying to buy the [Buffalo] Bills and now this with the label."
And while the band's new album may imply that it is directed to Richie Sambora, Jon Bon Jovi clarified that it's about their former label, Mercury Records.
"[It fulfills] a commitment to Mercury Records," he shared to Billboard. "After 32 years, we have parted ways. That is the big news. If you listen to 'Burning Bridges,' the song, it is clearly spelled out."
"This hits it right in the head and tells you what happened," he added. "Listen to the lyrics because it explains exactly what happened. And that's that."
Below is an excerpt of the song as posted by Radio.com:
"Ah, check the box, yeah, mark this day
There's nothing more to say.
After 30 years of loyalty, they let you dig a grave.
Now, maybe you could learn to sing or even strum along
But I'll give you half the publishing, You're why I wrote this song"
But for Alex Gale of Billboard, the new album of Bon Jovi is really insteresting and he admitted that it made him think that it has something to do with Sambora's exit.
"Bon Jovi's new album Burning Bridges is definitely an interesting title that maybe makes you think they're giving a wink to Richie Sambora leaving," he said in an interview with ET.
