Following the release of "Ghost Stories" last year, Coldplay has reportedly confirmed that they are now working on a new album titled, "A Head Full of Dreams."
This time however, the record will feature a more upbeat and pop songs, Sky News reported.
According to the source of the publication, Chris Martin and the rest of the British rock band members are almost done with the recording.
"The album is almost finished and the band are keen to get it out as soon as possible," the source of the publication revealed.
Compared to the latest album, Chris Martin is reportedly ready to release songs that are more lively, hence his divorce with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow has already been finalized.
"The last record was so depressing because it was about Chris' split from Gwyneth Paltrow," the source continued. "But the new material is more upbeat with a pop feel."
"They have already finished eight tracks, which are all completely different."
But while Coldplay is all set to release a new album, the British rock band is reportedly headed for breakup.
Chris Martin's last statement comparing their upcoming new album to the "Harry Potter" series reportedly fueled the breakup rumors.
"It's our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it's like the last 'Harry Potter' book or something like that," Martin explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something. I have to think of it as the final thing we're doing. Otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it."
In line with the new album news, Coldplay has yet to announce an official release date, however there are also rumblings claiming that Chris Martin is going to pull off a Beyonce-like surprise launch for its fans.
